Just a reminder that we will meet for card making on this Friday, June 21 at 9:30 in the Hearth Room. If you have card-making supplies you’d like to bring, that’s great, but no experience or equipment are necessary.
Your children are welcome to join you, but no child care will be available. Come for as long as you are having fun.
The SUMC Book Club has chosen something we hope is light reading for summer. We chose “Delilah, Treacherous Beauty” by Angela Hunt. We hope it is indeed light reading, since she wasn’t a very likable person in the Bible. Synopsis: When beautiful, wounded Delilah finds herself begging for food to survive, she resolves that she will find a way to defeat all the men who have taken advantage of her. She will overcome the roadblocks life has set before her, and she will find riches and victory for herself. Our discussion night will be Tuesday, August 20 at 7:30 pm (after Community Dinner cleanup).
Do you love a party, and want to host but just can’t get in gear? Here is a great opportunity for you. July 4, the party comes to SUMC in the form of the Fourth of July Parade. Our front lawn is full. We would like to have one church door open so people can use the facilities, and a bit of supervision is needed. We need a chaperone! The amount of effort beyond that is up to you. People are grateful for anything we do. Pitchers of ice water with little cups are popular. We’d love to have VBS fliers and other fliers out on a table. We have had the popcorn machine running in the past. Please talk to Donna Rischbieter (email@example.com) or Becky Nold (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you can coordinate this important ministry to our community.
I hope to see you all this Friday, June 21 at 9:30.
