Our 17th Season Comes to an End

Hi, Everyone,
Our 17th season of Friday Morning Moms has ended. We’ll be back again in September with new studies and lots of fun. Stay tuned for the start date.
Meanwhile, an idea was hatched at our last meeting to create personal invitations to attend the next season’s meetings, so there will be a card-making session on Friday, June 21, beginning at 9:00. Children are welcome, and can be great helpers for an activity like this, so please bring them. There will be no professional child care provided. Come for as long as your schedule allows.
Loose change collection to benefit the CAPTAIN Food Pantry ― May 17 was $6.40. Total for the season is $94.01 which represents over 587 pounds of food! Thanks so much.
Upcoming:
Book Group has chosen their next book, Surprised by Joy, by C.S. Lewis. In this book Lewis tells of his search for joy, a spiritual journey that led him from the Christianity of his early youth into atheism and then back to Christianity. The scheduled discussion date is June 18, at 7 pm. That’s coming up fast, so if you would like to join a book order contact Becky Nold. Becky reports there are library copies available. If you would like her to order a book for you, please let her know. beckynold85@gmail.com

Patchwork of Love
Attention Quilters, 2019 SUMC Patchwork of Love quilting workshops are now completed and all of the efforts provided a wonderfully large number of quilts for the mission to provide warmth, comfort and love to children and infants in need. Because some have not been able to let go of the quilting bug, some mini quilting sessions have been scheduled for the coming months. Quilting sessions will be in the Hearth Room from 10 am to 3pm on the days listed below:
May 22, Wednesday
June 4, Tuesday
June 19, Wednesday
July 9, Tuesday
July 24, Wednesday
Bring your projects and lunch, and enjoy a day with the quilters. If you have any questions please contact Suzy Calvin at slcalvin@verizon.net.

Grace and peace,
Denise
